Black Mirror: Season 5

Watched all 3 at the weekend. They weren't too bad, nothing like what everyone was making out.

The first episode was 'classic' Black Mirror for me. New technology, and has odd (and very weird to watch!) side effects.

Second episode just had the 'where is this going?' question the whole time. Didn't get into that one as much.

Third was a little odd. I actually though Miley was quite good in it tbh!
 
it was still watchable and more enjoyable than most shows... but when you hit the heights of episodes like The Entire History of You, Shut up & Dance and San Junipero then it's going to be very hard to maintain that level of quality.
 
Finished watching season 5. Felt that episode 2 and 3 were better than the first. In my opinion, was watchable, but not as fresh and original as episodes from earlier seasons.

In no particular order, some of the more memorable episodes from my recollection:
San Junipero
White Christmas
Black Museum
Shut Up and Dance
Hang the DJ
Hated in the Nation
 
Black Mirror Season 5 - bit **** now the yanks have got hold of it.


Episode 1 was an awkward watch.


Episode 2 - went on longer than needed and pay off was 'meh'.


Episode 3 still to go.

The new season was not very good.

If you like Black Mirror then Inside Number 9 is worth a watch too.

Watched the final episode of S5 - Miley. This was a little better, but:

  • Happy ending? Thought it could have been darker ie Miley was caught and put back into a coma - the end. Or Miley liked what she saw with the digital Ashley and she allowed the aunt to continue with it which allowed Miley to break free from her contract and go and do her own thing whilst still coining in royalties or something like that :)

  • Ashley Too - i was hoping that when the 2 girls removed the limiter, it was actually Miley in a coma talking, not AI - that would have been a cool turn of events. The doc was getting notifications about her condition, so there was definitely some signal connection and the doll was wifi/bluetooth enabled.
Not the best season by far, but worth a watch.

So i took your recommendation and have watched 4 of 6 episodes of S1. They are not bad, but seem a bit more comedic rather than dark and foreboding. But i would not have heard of these without you, so thanks very much and i will stick with them now (nice they are only 20-30mins each).
