Hi all
My misses wants black ops for her pc.
Now her specs are a bit old and i have heard some bad things about black ops performance.
Her pc can run ut3 and cod4 etc(albeit with settings turned down)

Her specs are fx57 cpu and 2 7800ultras in sli

Will black ops be at least playable in multiplayer on her pc and has it been patched to fix bugs/problems

Thanks in advance

Buy CoD4, use the money you saved to get a take-away, a drink or two and settle in for some decent gaming.

BO is a terrible, terrible game and by buying it you're saying "please milk me like the cow-bit** I am".

Im not asking how the game is as i pretty much know its the same as all the others.
She also already has cod4 and ut3.......i just wanted to know if it would run reasonably well and if they have patched out any bugs/issues?

Thanks

It isn't the same as all the others, though.

More or less.........i know about the game itself though just needed to know how it would run on her pc and if they have patched out any bugs/issues thats all;)

I personally wouldnt touch it m8 as i agree with the milking bit totally.

Misses wants to shoot something though and shes bored of all the others lol

Well I guess it's wise to not get in the way of a woman and her M16! Shame it's tied to Steam or you could have my copy. :(

The problem with the game - you can't guage how it will perform on any given PC as its (seemingly) random how badly the performance issues will manifest on any given PC setup... tho on ~70% of setups it performs appalling and even on setups where its smooth the framerate is barely half what it should be.

For instance I have 2 setups I test it on regularly to see if the latest patch has fixed it yet:

Laptop: T9600 (2.83gig dual core - basically an E8300) w/ GTX260m (basically a 9800GT)

Gaming PC: Q9550 (quad core running upto 4GHz) w/ GTX470 SLI

Using the same config file on each, same resolution, and this is with all settings turned to low I get exactly the same framerate on both of them - I can turn SLI on and off and it makes no difference. In any given scene in the same conditions I get the same framerate give or take 1 fps. Only difference is the dual core takes around 10 seconds longer after loading a map to settle down.

While my framerate shown in game is usually over 60fps, its quite erratic and feels more like 20fps, firing a weapon or getting shot at usually makes the game super choppy.
