Black screen sometimes when POSTing

Recently I've been having problems with my setup - I suspect it's the heat affecting the motherboard, but I'll explain more.

If I restart my PC sometimes I will get just a blank screen and don't see and POST screen and Windows doesn't load. If I turn the PC off for about 2-3 minutes using the button on the case, it usually comes back on and acts if nothing happened.

I've reseated my memory, PCI-E devices and power cables for the motherboard and graphic card - none of these helped, other than giving the PC a few minutes to settle or cool down.

The PC is perfectly stable in use - no errors, slow downs or blue screens. You'd never know anything was wrong until you restarted.

Does anybody have any pointers, or is this likely to be a motherboard issue? I don't think Asus or OcUK will exchange my 30 month old motherboard now. :(

My specs are:
Asus Z97 Pro Gamer (the latest BIOS, 2203, is installed and has been since it was released sometime last year)
Intel i5 4570S
GTX 660
Creative PCI-E Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium
SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450w
Intel Gigabit GT PCI-E

Now my PC won't even boot up, not even into the BIOS. This build wasn't even two years old - ordered on 20/01/2015.

I've completely taken it apart, tried different RAM sticks, checking the CPU socket and re-applying the heatsink compound. Nothing is working. :(

I'm not sure that the motherboard is under warranty. And after reading about what people have said about the Asus RMA procedure, it sounds like it could be a nightmare! I'm not sure I have the patience for that.

Another minor update. I returned the motherboard to OcUK on Monday, they received it yesterday (DPD didn't pick up from shop until Tuesday) and tested it today. It seems that OcUK aren't having much luck with the board either, so at least it's not something I'm doing!
