Hi,

I have a silver C3 Finesse, I live in the country. I keep getting scores of minute black tar circular spots on the paint work. Unless I remove them daily, when they are easy to remove but not practical time wise - 2 hours, the longer I leave them, the harder to remove. I have tried Greased Lightning - Showroom Shine, hoping that the wax would prevent it - but the spots still return, so quickly its annoying. Has anyone had a similar experience & found a solution, any help would be much appreciated? I park the car in a private compound, off road, down a driveway, near to a Weeping Willow & a Chesnut tree, approx 30ft away.

Thanks

Ian

Have them on our white car all over it. The first time I tried to clean the car and noticed how hard they were to remove I stopped caring about it ever again and settled on barely ever washing the car. It fits with my usual bi annual washing schedule anyway so...

Autoglym Tar remover will do the trick.
You end wasting loads of it as it's too thin a liquid and just runs everywhere - can't really apply it and leave it to work.

Aerosol based tar removers work better imo.

A clay bar every year, or if you must, every three months would work wonders.
Clay bar is the nuclear option though, given that you are mechanically removing it and dragging it across the paint - you then also need to polish and protect (wax/sealant) afterwards.
