Black to the Future - i7 Black Widow

I used his idea but added a samsung dvd/rw as well.

I had to use a lian-li 120mm fan cage to attach the rad and set it back far enough to get a the short (170mm) dvd/rw drive in the bottom bay.

That is simply awesome DeadMan!! Great job!! Good thinking with the DVD drive too - might have to try that in mine :D Amazing that these cases can still be found in such great condition - she's a beaut!!

did you put the rad for the corsair in the front drive slots ?

thinking of putting a h50 in mine but thinng is alll 80mm fan fittings. this would like yours be easiest way of fitting the rad if thats where you put it.

also what mesh and stuff / extras you need pls

Yup - my setup is the Kama Bay connected to an empty 120mm fan shell connected to an Akasa Apache with the radiator last - the fan pulls cool air in and pushes it through the rad. Everthing I used is listed above with the exception of the cable-ties used to pull the whole thing together :)

Cheers bud, it worked out quite well! I just had to find the right length DVD drive as this would not be possible with an average unit as they are just too long.

I am really impressed with the H50-1 as it can tame an overclocked i7 920 @ 3.6ghz keeping it under 70c priming small fft's all night long.

I used the stock PWM 120mm fan to blow air onto the rad which seems to work well if not a little noisy at full speed, chucked the stock 80mm's and replaced them with Panaflo 80mm (Hydro Wave Fluid Dynamic Bearing) FBA08A12L's which run whisper quiet at 12v.

The blow hole 80mm Panaflo sucks almost all of the hot air coming from the rad and blows it out of the case.

Thanks again for the inspiration, you have made a great case great once more :)

ATCS 201 B-BXT! I have 3 of these in the loft! :D

Nice to see one looking as good as it did when they first came out, and I have to say that the rad mount is genius!

DeadMan, I have a ATC 201 case too and am half considering getting the H50 after reading this thread. Where is the 120mm fan infront of the radiator getting it's air from though?

And is there much of a gap between the 80mm fan on the roof of the case and the radiator, since in my case I have a slightly larger 92mm silverstone fan mounted there.

well most logical place to put them is like they have done in the front drive bay other than that its the top panel (only 80mm fan) so that means cutting top out to right size.

i cant make my mind up at moment what to do.

DeadMan's setup is similar to mine except he's pulling air in through the 5.25" blanking plates whereas I've got a Kama Bay there :)

DeadMan, you mentioned a Lian Li 120mm fan cage you used to be able to put the radiatior and fan in the 5.25" bays, any chance of a link or the exact model name? Thanks.

Its the rear part of a PC343 120mm fan bay

The fan is mounted on rubber grommets to reduce vibration and noise.
