Unfortunately i'm worried about everything. Although this time i at least have a small reason, as its my media PC and will be used for watching TV i'd like it to turn on quickly, as my £20 freeview box is beating it for boot time at the moment...
i hate seeing that, but i have a 3500+ and i dont see it... i think it must be a driver issue, or something is loading slow at the start of the bootup process.
AMD X2 4000+ with 2GB of GeIL ULL RAM and a 500GB SATA2 Samsung Spinpoint...i have much older PC's running XP that don't do it (P4 2.4/512MB RAM,etc), so am struggling to believe its a hardware issue.
Maybe on an older system you've seen, for whatever reason, but not on all old machines. I've seen XP running on a host of old computers and it doesnt seem anything to do with the speed of the computer to me. My father, for example, uses an old P4 800mhz laptop with 256mb RAM (IIRC) and it doesn't show the bar on that.
Fair play pal, i'm not worried anymore as i installed Vista (fool! i hear you scream) and of course there is no longer the progress bar...im just interested as to why it appears.
Happens for me on some pc's and doesn't on others, poor pc's ( ie. 256 mb of ram, 500 mhz cpu) are more prone to do it than fast pc's ), just ignore it tbh I think it's a normall process of starting windows.
