Diesel generator. Or a solar panel with a battery but that probably won't generate much leccy in the middle of winter.

You can force charge the battery though when you get power back, you could float the battery at say 50% and it would be capable of running for a bit. The issue here is that you'd also want to float the battery basically all the time with a certain minimum charge.
 
Without pointing fingers at at the OP anyone interested in this, is this an actual thing which UK citizens are concerned about? I appreciate the 'generator, get it done' views but also wow.

The Sun did an article which used the words could and maybe and referenced the UKs strategic plan for energy conservation.
