Goes to show how much of a scam the OG 4080 was which used lower binned dies and cost £1200+ at launch

Are they really comparing prices to Asus, Asus are always very overpriced to start with because you're mostly paying for the name.
Even when it was a reference card with a sticker on it asus always charged more.

Yep, I was expecting to £2000 plus tbh, if anything at £1999 it's cheaper than I expected by £1 lol
I'm expecting the 5080 to be about £1400 though I would he pleasantly surprised if it was £1000

Honestly the thing for me is how will the 5080 compare to the 4080 & 7900xtx. Because if AMD release the 8800 whatever they call (4080/7900xtx performance) it at say a 600-800 price range and the 5080 is only 20% better than the 4080 I'm curious on how the 5080 looks in terms of "Ridiculousness" 20% better than a 8800 (4080 level) but double the price.
