Blackwell gpus

I have a 4090, I did not have a problem with Hogwarts using a lot of VRAM, but my point is that this was not normal for that game, the VRAM just kept going up and up to the point 22GB of being used in many areas, which meant all of the VRAM being used since Windows DWM uses 1~GB with other apps in the BG using the remainder. It then spilled over to system RAM and some 17GB of system RAM was then being used too which highlighted the memory leak bugged nature of the game. I have 64GB of RAM so this again wasn't an /issue/ as such.

As said, it's a bugged game which was never fixed and will never be fixed as they abandoned it.
It's fixed, I guess. At 4k with DLSS Quality goes to around 14GB vRAM at most, but then it drops down and it adjust itself dynamically.

I can't see it been above £2000 (For the fe).

We shall see.
I think the top Nvidia will charge is 5090 at 2.5k the 5080 1500 the 5070ti being 1200 and the 5070 at 800

A more conservative estimate would be 5090 at 2k, 5080 at 1300, 5070 ti at 1000 and 5070 at 700

I would be surprised if Nvidia charges less than this given there will be no competition for the 5070ti up and Nvidia will want to prioritise the silicon for AI so won’t want big gaming sales numbers but larger margins instead.

That would be outrageous if they end up being the prices.800 for a 192- bit bus 12GB card should be illegal, and would be pointless when you can get the 4070ti Super for the same price

Don’t forget they planned to launch the 192 bit bus 4080 12gb for $900 last time and ended up launching it as a 4070ti for $800 a month later so I wouldn’t be surprised by anything at this point.

Also the 4070ti S will probably dry up by the time they launch.

I think people are going a bit over the top with prices. They still have to sell and the market spoke loudly and clearly about the £1200 4080. We are also the hardcore few, who care about performance the most.

5080 £999-£1200
5090 <£2000

Quote me in a few days time.
Don’t forget that last time the 4080 had some competition from the 1k 7900XT and this time it’ll have none and also the 4090 was “only” $1600 which many people viewed as too cheap and remember what happened when people thought the 3080 was too cheap.

Still the 4090 owners pool is so, so small. So we possibly have less than 1% owners and of them what 1% of them saying it's too cheap?

Unless it provides a 20% performance boost over the 4090, which is very unlikely, the 5080 can't be above or even within 10% of the 4090 price considering the 16GB vram.
The 4090 was £1,500 in July 2023 when I bought mine.

It would be silly for the same performance to be the same price today on a new product... Anybody buying it should regret not getting the 4090 and enjoying that level of performance sooner.

I think it ended up being bigger than the 4080 pool as people got better value. It would be apt to see the actual sales figures to back this up but I would guess it would be one of the only times a 90 has outsold an 80 sku.

It’ll be interesting to see if the 5090 requires two 12v 2x6 connectors for AIB models. Assuming the FE has a 600w tdp anything over 675 would need another connector if we count 75 for the pcie slot. On another note, I really can’t see how coolers are getting smaller if it’s pushing 600 watts.

Even without competition, you can't price your product too high as people wouldn't be interested or don't have the money for it. Of course, that doesn't stop nVIDIA from trying.
