Blackwell gpus

Everything's just got more expensive on ebay (new buyer fees) so that will probably have some effect on graphic card sales/scalping.
The new 'protection' seems to consist of making buyers pay upto 4% + 75p to make sellers not get paid until delivery, that's kinda of it.

Starts in Feb though so selling pre order £1,600 5080s is time critical!

Plus I thought he was so loaded he was giving his card to his friends mates cousins daughter or something?

DLSS4 seems to be happening

Was expecting something like this, "The RTX 5080 is 50% faster... When using DLSS4".. :(

One thing to remember there is always a lag when it comes technology adoption.

We are still waiting for direct storage to take off and its been out for years now.

Any new features announced by Nvidia such as Neural Rendering will probably get used by 1 or 2 show case games and the 6000 series will roll round and we will still be waiting for more games to use it.

I was really excited for direct storage. However bar one game (Rachet and Clank) I don’t think I've played any other games that use the technology.

To be fair, that's a Microsoft technology. Microsoft don't care if you use it.

Nvidia will be paying game devs left right and centre to shove as many neurals into their upcoming games as possible.

This is likely how nV try to get away with "5080 delivers 4090-class performance for £1200".

The more I look at the 5080 specs and more is known about 5000 series, the more I'm certain 5080 won't perform up to 4090 levels, at least in raster and RT. I'm more settling on it being 10-15% slower with nV using DLSS as a crutch. A few people predicted earlier in this thread nV will only show benchmarks that use at CES... I don't think that's far fetched.

but on a serious note, i hope nvidia looks at stabilizing what they have released till date, this model of releasing dlss x every 2 years is heading towards an implosion
It just reminds me of the old DirectX days where every couple of years a new version would come out and your GPU would just straight up refuse to play anything on that new version.

At least with DLSS you can still play games using a newer version (at 20fps with invisible neurals).

With time every old game can be player maxed at native.

Unless you are one of these people that swears dlss looks better than native! (Which I only agree with when you can control the sharpening on a per game basis, which is a bit of a pain).

R:e DLSS4, by not including new software advancements with previous GPUs, it just looks like Nvidia needs to rely on this type of up-scaling tech to achieve it's performance improvement goals, rather than being innovative in this space. I.e something that perhaps the previous 3000 and 4000 RTX series could also benefit from. It seems a very disingenuous advancement, and really aimed at securing more sales and adding to their already greedy Mc greed face sort of persona.

I might go full scorched earth at this point and just start my own Nvidia boycott of 1 person :D

Hopefully I’m not wrong, but DLSS4 will probably come to the 4000 series after 6 - 12 months.
