Over there...
They gave me a 600 Hornet as a loaner for my blades service - and had a mini-hoon on the way back! Suprisingly agile bike, needs more grunt obv, but still a fun ride at speeds which dont neccesarily mean jail time!

yeah, i tried to blag the new VFR, as a Test Drive loaner, but sadly wouldnt lend it me on short notice. Shame, as i quite like the look of 'em.

My last loaner was a 09 VFR 800 which I hated with a passion, felt so odd going from a very highly tuned Ducati 748 to a viffer!

I put it through it's paces on a night blast from Reading to Sheffield on the first day I had it. Not bad sitting at 120+ on the motorway for a long time. However, it eats fuel like mad.

i have to say that whilst the Hornet was in no way more exhilirating or better than my bike, it might well have been more "fun". Cant explain it, i think its the comparatively higher bars and increased low down manouverability. Made getting back on my bike like get onto a very low, narrow train! That said, i topped the hornet out at 126, and my blade managed that in 2nd without realising!

Haha! Totally agree, the viffer was awsome for town riding, very easy to ride and have fun with. When I hopped back on my 748 it felt beyond stiff, rigid and was awful, until I came to a contry road and realised why I fell in love with it :D

The viffer did 155 tops... Possibly more, but I was wearing a boiler bag at the time as it was bloody freezing! So a fair bit of wind resistance lol.

ha all better than a loaner they gave me once.. A CG125 !!! I was too embarrassed to ride the thing, EVEN WITH A HELMET ON i rode it home obviously but left it in the garage until my bike was ready for pickup.

I am the opposite, not embarrassed riding any bike.

One of my mates had a Daytona and was constantly trying to swap with my Bandit when out on rides for that very reason.

When my sv650 was in I was given a GSXF650, whilst enjoyable I missed my V and it made me decide - rightly or wrongly - that I'd never go for an inline 4. Maybe it wasn't the best inline 4 but oh well! :/

Maybe you just prefer the twin?

Let a friend ride my zx6 and he said he much preferred the smoothness of the power delivery over the SV..

Same here I prefer the smoothness of an inline. Had a Duc Monster and an R6both at the same time. i noticed after riding the Duc I was sometimes got off after an decent ride feeling a little nausea. I think it was a combination of the extra vibration and noise that the Ducati was giving over the Yammy. I did however enjoy the power delivery of the twin. Just the extra vibration took a little getting use to.

yeah, i moved from a Twin (SP1 Anniversary Edition) to my blade, and tbh i'll never go back. The SP1 had character, but was so heavy and massively underpowered compared to a modern 1litre IL4. I'm not even convinced they were torquier either tbh just "felt" torquier. Felt the same when i test rode an RC8, so it wasnt an age thing...
