blank screen after boot up

Hi guys,

I'm getting a blank screen after booting up. I get the windows logo then nothing.

I was overclockibg my 2500k a little and I reset the BIOS just in case. Still nothing. Could it be the GPU? Its an HD6870 that I've been meaning to replace for a while.

Any ideas or help would be amazing.

Sounds like you need to do a cmos reset.

Tried removing your gpu and re booting yet? Make sure to set On-board graphics to enabled in bios if you haven't already done so. Then you can rule that out.

will it boot to desktop visible in safe mode?

Haven't removed GPU yet. Safe mode is visable but colours seem off. I checked GPU drivers also.

Looks like it was the GPU! fond an old one int he attic and its at least running!
