[blatant bragging] I have it, it's HERE! Holy Trinity is complete!!!

Can't quite tell, but are the contacts in line with the glass's outer edge? Is it cut around the contacts? :O

So get the sigma :-P Did you try one before getting the 1.2 ?

Nope and if I want speed I'd use my 1.8, the sigma didn't cross my mind really. I wanted the 1.2 for so long and if I got the sigma, that itch will still be there. Like I said, buy right, buy once.

Ive seen lots of samples and still yet impressed by it. Where as with the 1.2, someone once said "nothing else makes the subject pop like the 85/1.2" and it's true. Especially with full body shots, it's surreal 3D quality that I hadn't seen from another lens.

I know, i actually took it off to check i haven't scratched it already, which i haven't lol. Phew.!

You have got me worried about my one, so I've been having a look:

If you look closely, you'll see that the metal rim is proud of the glass. Not by much but by enough to ensure that the mount never touches the glass. The lens above is maybe two years old and I have miss-mounted it enough times that if the camera mount was going to scratch the rear element, I would have done it by now. Indeed that metal rim is showing signs of wear and tear but the only thing to see on the glass is dust.

I handled one of these things at a show a while back (belonging to a certain Gary Fong) and it's a simply amazing piece of glass just to hold in your hand, let alone use.

The front element is practically the same size as the 135L but because it is much shorter, it looks ridiculous !

I am one UV filter short lol

Wow shallow DOF indeed, in fact those pics above look a little like those arcitexture design mockups they do when they then go and plaster images of 2D people on top. :p

Welcome to the club :)

As I'm sure you have found out there's not much protecting the lens closest to the camera.

EDIT: Just seen this point discussed above. Be careful!

Possible silly question Raymond, but you can spot one of your pics a mile off due to the... well "creamy" look to it (only way I can describe it)

Is this down to PP??

Pretty sure it's mainly down to the crazy-expensive lenses he buys that give that effect too :p
