Ok so my Gf's car has had some problems with the engine temp and the heater. She phoned the garage and they told her tp bleed the radiator, and being the man off the house (haha) I'm taking it upon myself to give this a bash!

Being a bit of a car-tard i thought I better check if you fine people have had any past experience with this?

Thanks guys :)

Follow the top water hose from the radiator and you will probably find there is a bleed nipple of some description at its highest point. Open it up and let the air out until the coolant starts running out and shut it off. You might need to top it up quite a lot and do it a few times after journeys depending how much air is in the system.

Or do it my way which is to undo a jubilee and pull one end of the top hose off. Fill it up and shove the hose back on when the coolant starts coming out the end.

Nice one, cheers guys. I started doing it last night by marking the coolant level and leaving the cap off, letting the engine warm up then turning the heaters on full blast. It started to bubble releasing all the air but it took ages!! Still not released all the air, but i couldnt get into the engine bay to release the valve to drain it (as it was dark and very cramped in the engine bay), so i will carry on with my boring mission 2nite!!

Cheers!! :)

PS. I did get bored and went for a drive and ended up opening the cap and covering myself in coolant great fun! :D
