I've got one of those liquid-assisted air coolers, the CoolIT Vantage and there is a load of air stuck in there, I can hear it sloshing around every now and again. I'd really like to get it out, but I really don't know how if or if I would go about bleeding it. Any suggestions?

Well, the idea is they require zero-maintenance, but the noise the air that is trapped in there makes is really annoying. There are three 'sockets' on the rad/res, two have piping in them and the other just has a cap on it, but I can't get it off for the life of me. I've never done WC before, am I right in saying that I'd have to open something such as a fillport and run the pump with it open?

Don't open it. You don't know what the fluid is inside it. It could be absolutely anything. Chances are it's 100% fine, but it could be very nasty indeed. Especially if you have pets.

And id say that once you start tampering with it your warranty is gone. Rma it as suggested.

why not just rock the case side to side slowly like with a normal watercooling loop if it is just a little air? :)

It's not really bad enough for an RMA, but there's definitely some there because every now and again you hear a gargling noise from the pump and you can hear it sloshing around when you pick it up. Besides, an RMA is out of the question since I opened it up and passionately ripped the buzzer out to stop it beeping at me all the time!

Would rocking it work? Surely the air would need to leave the system. Hopefully when it's installed with the res considerably higher than the pump it will sort itself out?

sorry but RMA???

return ;)

Top it up with some water if you already have voided the warranty. hopefully that should sort it out
