'Blitzing' through games

It depends on what you mean by 'blitzing', if you mean skipping all the dialogs and cut scenes then yeah that does seem really silly. However if you mean just sticking to the main quest and not doing side quests or exploring etc. then I see no problem with that. It all depends on how much time/want you have to play a game.
 
If ive baught a game i like to enjoy it over time rarther then in the shortest time possible. Feels like ive just wasted 40 quid or whatever when i finish a game in a single 6-7 hour session (heavenly sword comes too mind) no matter how good the game was ;)
 
Personally, I don't blitz through games intentionally and certainly not in an RPG. I love exploring every last bit of story and dialogue and find myself replaying them over and over to experience everything. That said, when it comes to a generic FPS I usually wind up going though it extremely quickly, simply because I find them extremely easy in most cases. I can usually complete a game in a few sittings these days, a sad cry for someone who enjoys engrossing, drawn out games.
