Blizzard adds DX11 to WoW

Still looks bad to me. I played a week of it again recently and got a Scroll of Res character to 85 before deciding I wasn't paying any subscription for a month or two of this. Can't go back after playing so many actual high quality games. When are we getting an MMO with Metro 2033 style graphics? :P

Don't you mean when are we getting a high quality MMO with that type of graphics? The two aren't exclusive.

I'm more concerned with just how limited the customer retention is on new MMO's in the past 5 or 6 years. WoW PvP was just silly but if a game with that much work put into it and had good PvP came out now i'd play it, even if it looked like WoW. I'm bored of being bored in a couple of months :(

Says a lot that i'm having much more fun in Torchlight 2 (dungeon grinder with no pvp worth speaking of) than i am in GW2, or Star Wars before it... or ... etc.

Well one of the ingredients in the formula of success for WoW is its accessibility in terms of hardware support. You can run it on older machines very successfully so it's frankly not in their interest to give this anything more than a minor facelift.

Yet with better coding, you can make games which still look a lot better and run well on older hardware. I also doubt that people who play games and can afford a monthly sub couldn't afford a £75 graphics card every year or two.
 
So, does their roll out for dx11 look as it did in that video? I found it disconcerting that just the terrain was reflected and the player models & objects were not reflected at all.

Guess with GW2 I'm spoiled :D
