Hey all,

Bought this yesterday, first listen i thought it sounded OK, but there was far too much mixing for me to fully enjoy it. I'm on my third time through and it is really sinking through me, and i am humming along to it.

NME mag has been banging on about this album for ages, i hope it grows on me more.

Anyone else bought it? Opinions?

I don't think it's like anything else i have been listening to recently, i just can't see what they are doing here?

Saying that the last few albums i have got are; The Kinks (Best of) The Beatles No.1 (First Kinks and Beatles album i have got and i love them) The Gossip, The Used, Get cape Wear cape Fly, The View, The Automatic, The White Stripes.

I'm thinking Bloc Partys new album will grow on me. Over time, but it's not something i think will take off as big as their first album.
 
I wasn't a massive fan the first time i listened, with the exceptions being Song For Clay, Hunting For Witches and Uniform. I thought it lacked the urgency of the first album, but then i saw them do a lot of the new album live and it totally changed my opinion of it.
 
Seriously this album is a HUGE grower. That's one of the main things about it, it grows on you so much and by the end of the week you'll be questioning your sanity in thinking it 'wasn't that good'
It's truly splendid just give it a chance :D

At first I thought, I really like the first half but the second half isn't so good .. How wrong I was.
Brilliant record, matches Silent Alarm, at least.


Oh, and by the way it's really really great live :D I went to see them at the Astoria last week and I was pretty much blown away by the entire set ..

Uniform, there, is really world class : ) and I'm not a huge fan of the album version.

I never really like it to start with. But now i love it! Its on the car cd player every day on the way to work :D i know thats probably a bad idea because i will get bored of it quickly, but songs for clay, uniform, hunting for witches, waiting for the 7.18, the prayer, where is home, i stil remember. All top class tunes!
