Has anyone heard this yet?

A mate of mine treated me to a listen, and I have to say, it's fantastic. I cannot wait for this to come out, I will down the shops and buying this straight away.

The single is a fantastic track by itself.

Havn't heard the album yet, can't wait till it comes out tho. I wasn't that taken in by "The Prayer" at first apart from the awesome chorus, but i listened a few times on the website and it's a real grower.

Hunting for witches is fantastic. And with the single, I loved it the first time I heard it. Bloc Party are different to anything else I've heard, and that sets them apart I think they are absolutly excellent.

I first heard Silent Alarm in a colleagues car. About about 20 minutes into the journey I just had to ask him who they were. I got the album the same day.

The first time I heard the new album I wasn't overly impressed, but I stuck it in my car and after the 3rd listen I was hooked... Well worth getting!

The vocals are at times incomprehensible, but they have a completely unique sound. I can't believe they aren't more well known.

I'm seeing them live in February at Cardiff Uni, can't wait.

its out on my birthday!! u can tell whats on my list! :D

Silent Alarm was a fantastic album, and i cant wait till i go and see them at the birmingham academy on the 10th!

amazing band!

IMO id say it was about 3rd best on the album

it definetly grows on you. some very good electro remixs of it and other tracks from the album kicking about already

im predicting a remix album the same as silent alarm had

I've been listening to it a while now and I'd give it a 9 out of 10.

Song for Clay - Brilliant opener, should have been the new bond theme. A little annoyed at the mixing though - I think the second guitar line (the one in the background which rips off "Sunday Bloody Sunday") should be louder, and the vocals are maybe a little TOO gentle, but an excellent rock song.

Witches - This album's helicopter? It maybe isn't QUITE up to the standard of helicopter, but good nonetheless, with interesting lyrics and a rocking chorus.

Waiting for the 7.18 - I still feel the vocals are a little too gentle, especially if you liked the way the first album sounded. I LOVED the early live renditions of this, but the vocals kill it on the album. The way the guitars kick in with a "wall of sound" for the chorus partially make up for this though.

The Prayer - youve all heard it

Uniform - The first half does nothing for me, i have to admit. It changes radically though, with layered vocals and interesting keychanges, before a powerful conclusion. Not one of my favourites, but some people say the best on the album, and something you really have to hear for yourself.

On - Surprised someone singled this out as a bad song, I personally think parts of it sound spectacular - the bit after the first chorus, "On friday night..." with the rising strings is brilliant, very atmospheric. The choruses themselves, marmite I suppose : "You make my tongue loose..."

Where Is Home - I agree that this is probably the worst song on the album. Nothing in particular stands out about it.... Interesting rhythm I suppose.

Kreuzberg - What a song. I cannot get enough of this. I'd compare it to "So Here We Are" from the first album, a beautiful song.

I Still Remember - Hmmm. I find it OK, a decent pop song but IMHO there's nothing special about it, I quite like the guitar in the chorusses but its nothing U2 havent done before, and better.

Sunday - One from the same book as kreuzberg. Nice lyrics, nice sound.

my thoughts anyway. Its a way different album to silent alarm, much more melodic and produced : less "luno", more "so here we are"

I'd give it a 9 out of 10 too after a good few months of listening to it solid.
First few listens I could tell it was great, but didn't appreciate it that much, it is a grower for sure.

Song For Clay - Really interesting track, I love it D:, what an opener ..

HFW - Love listening to this when driving, some good lyrics 'kill your middle class indecision etc ..', similar to helicopter.

WFT7.18 - My favourite track on the album, starts off really really cute and then just gets better.

Prayer - Different, love what they've done with it, glad at least one song is like it and it shows some good progression. Shows that they've still got a few more really good albums in them.

Uniform - From the early demo's it showed soooo much promise, one of my lesser favourite tracks to be fair. Sounds good though and once it gets started I like : )

On - Sounds good, where the album starts to get slower I suppose.

Where Is Home - Don't really like the start, but once it kicks in I really like it :D

Kreuzberg - Really like this, really really nice song.

I Still Remember - Nice song, nothing astounding though, only track that I feel could have been replaced with something better.

Sunday - Next favourite song, really nice sounding and just makes me happy.

SXRT - Really good end track. Wraps it up so well.

Overall I think the album starts and ends really, really well but gets a little confused in the middle maybe. Some of the other tracks they tried (now B-sides) I wouldn't have minded seeing instead of 1 or 2 that were chose.
Can't fault it too much, they've certainly pulled a good 2nd album outta the bag, no surprise however.

Likewise had it for a few months now and must admit it certainly is a grower.

Was a bit apprehensive at first as i loved Silent Alarm so much as was worried this wouldn't match up to it. Luckily after a few listens it totally draws you in.

Album officially released 5th February, and i'm going to see them live on the 9th.

Cannot wait! Supported by Metric who after listening to the album i'm also very impressed with, quite a different sound to what i usually like but good all the same.

Great :)

My friend tried to make me see them at Reading (Metric) but there was someone else on at the time that i wanted to see instead. Never thought any more of it.

Then got hold of their album few weeks ago and must say am mightily impressed. Monster Hospital, Empty, Patriach on a Vespa and Police and the Private seem to stand out for me, but good album in general.

Then Bloc party for a nice decent length set containing all the best tracks from both albums hopefully :)

Haven't seen either band live yet so looking forward to it a lot, good to hear Metric are recommended live. What about Bloc party, anyone caught them live? Been told by my cousin that they were awesome when he saw them at Reading '05.

I saw that the support acts change throughout the tour, quite glad have got Metric :)

Lol I must admit I was dissappointed when I heard that my gig (manchester) is just past the metric cutoff, but then again ive already seen them, and fields are supposed to be good too. coincidentally, I saw fields perform the END of one track live (walked in at the end of their set during some MTV2 night) and it blew me away, cant find out what that song was called tho

Have some tabbage, more for my own reference but if people find it useful;
