Block IE7 using GPMC

Am having a bit of a dead head day and cannot figure out how to block IE7 using the GPMc. Server is running 2003 and client XP pro. Have enabled Restrict Internet Communication within the User/Admin Templates section but does not appear to be working.

Any help greatly apprectaited.

I'm not responsible for desktop updates here at work but you can use this toolkit to block it automatically installing via Windows Update:

I think you need to be using SUS or SMS to stop it at the network level although I might be totally wrong on that one (the desktop monkey isn't in the office today....).

Ahhh.. i thought you were trying to block the usage of it, not the installation of it.

Hi, sorry yes maybe should have explained a bit better - do indeed want to block its use - to restrict internet access.

Deny the application iexplore.exe from running?
