Block secures Ford WRC deal

Group B will NEVER come back - It was just too Dangerous! :o

All racing is dangerous, Group B is no more dangerous than other things.
Drivers are only prepared to push the cars to a certain limit, so if they are prepared to push the car that far it means the danger is acceptable to them.

Group B was a victim of its own popularity.

The cars were fast, and some might say dangerously so. However, the problem was, combine that speed with the massive crowds, course overcrowding, and lax spectator safety meant it was doomed.

Maybe back in the day, but I'm sure we could quite easily see a new Group B competition that is much safer.

The current spectator rules will help as it is, and that's without considering all the extra safety aspects that could be included in the cars.

Group B was substantially more dangerous than WRC and most forms of modern day racing. The cars were far more prone to fire, not as strong as a modern WRC car, had less room for error, less technology than modern cars, far less efficient braking and were by some distance more dangerous than many "other things".

And yet drivers were prepared to drive them, so clearly the danger level was acceptable.

If history has taught us anything, is that we are becoming pansies over time.
We had chariot races and gladiator fights, now we have non contact sports and slower racing machines.

Must say the marketing of Block and Monster World Rally Team will do a good bit to help WRC.

Also the car looks AWESOME!

Please ignore his tube light of FAIL!

Easy to say that from a sofa.
