Is there an easy way of phoning up BT and getting them to block a certain number from being able to make calls to my land line?

I'm sorry for asking on here but BT's website is about as helpful as a fishnet condom.

Cheers,

the easiest way is to phone bt up, and for a few £ a month you can block something like 10 numbers, you simply press a key after that person has called.

As far as I know there's no free way.

I keep getting some damn company ringing my mobile, it was automated and has only once played all the way through, telling me to ring back to here about the latest mobile phone deals, usually i dont get to answer it or its hangs up in seconds. Theres no way im ringing some random 0870 number but its getting on my ****!

I think in the future we're going to have to all have premium rate numbers to deal with this. Friends and intentional calls can then claim the funds back. If they did this with emails, it would certainly put an end to spam.

Yeh BT should be able to do it for you, although I’d imagine it’s a right pita if you have friends/family with withheld numbers

Yep, anonoymous call reject. £12 every 3 months.

ha ha, in that case it should certainly be possible to create some sort of gizmo that checks caller IDs and answers with a personalised '**** off' for any numbers you specify
