other side is all open and south facing so no light issues its just if you are sat on the stools at the bar it's windy and cold

The camera overlooking the seating area is a nice touch for when people have had a drink too many and it kicks off.

that one isn't high enough and seem some bad reviews on that brand

Could just use a cheap roller blind instead, wont auto retract though.

Or as said before build a frame from some thin wood and stick some plastic sheeting or fabric over it tight and then have it on hinges.

Edit: could even stick some bamboo to the frame for a tropical bar feel.

just get some shower curtains and stick them together.

find some with scenic pictures (lol known someone who did this on a balcony)

with a few judiciously placed brackets on fence + house , I think wind break material with wooden poles could asthetically fill gap ..
bungee cord type material for tensioning it ... the mechanism in roller blinds, and the sail 'device', I don't see as durable..

if its opaque , won't it kill the light .. maybe large piece of polycarbonate sheet - hinged ?

Wind tends to just go up and over solid barriers and carry on as before its why the fabric screens are better air will move through it and that breaks up the force of it. Its a filter.
