Blogging

Impressive you could almost buy a pint with that :p

Considering each blogpost is a minmum of 70 words + a picture, thus taking about 5-10 mins (I usually write about 200 instead of 70) including research for stories, I think it's a fair deal. Certainly supplements a part time job for a sixth form student :)

Nice work really, would like to get on something like that. How much you get a month from it?

I support blogs (unlike Twitter) as normally there is value in there somewhere. I'd say about 25% of my tech questions are answered by searching Google only to hit on someones blog who has given the time to explain a fix. People do have some sort of need to tell people about what they're up to, I think it's the modern day equivalent of going down the pub and telling your mates about how much carp you've had to do all week. Stress relief I guess.

Depends if I'm lazy or if I work hard. My fixed contract is 25 posts per month but I can go over that if I want to, or stay well under. I'm busy these days so it's often under about 15 or so, but I'm gonna make an effort to do 30 next month :)

Answer the question :p

If you must know, I'm trying to branch out into writing for newspapers/magazines/websites/etc so I thought if I blog about books I've read or films I've seen it would be a sample of writing on the basis of which some editor will hire me to write a review for them.
No guarantees that it would be completely free of inane and boring posts about my life and opinions, but I'd try and keep it to a minimum! :p

What do you intend to blog about? Do you have something genuinely interesting to say or do you think the internet cares about your life and opinion enough to warrant its own webpage?

This not only sums up blogging, but also the Twitter thing.

I do have a blog, well I help write one (based in Education). I don't find them a problem if they're interesting, ie about something in particular, but when it's someone trying to be "cool" it fails.

I just don't get the idea that we are all so egocentric (someone spell that right) that we feel the need and self importance to tell people what we are doing every ****ing hour of every ****ing day. **** off.
