Blogging

I started one... and then stopped because I just didn't have the time. I just use facebook to effecftively "blog" my life. You can download your facebook profile too, so you can re-read your life if you're interested. I also use forums such as OcUK to air thoughts and rant... I just don't have time with spending 30mins or more typing up my thoughts. It serves little purpose for me really as who'd be interested?!

I found the story of Centralia very interesting.

Cheers! To start with, the blog is basically going to be a repository for the articles that I have published around the internet, so I have quite a back catalogue of stuff to update and whack on there. Most of the stuff going on now will probably be about creepy mysteries and weird haunty stuff.

I'm finding blogs helpful because the process of writing it up gets me looking and reading into the subject I am blogging on, I'm abit lazy when it comes to reading stuff and I need a reason to do it.

Well it's all certainly interesting I'm sure stuff like that will prove to be popular.

Blogging: Mostly for delusional, attention-seeking muppets who mistakenly believe that other people actually give a **** about their life and inane activities. :p

Occasionally there'll be a good blog out there (eg: technical ones or people going through some sort of epic journey or struggle) but for the most part they seem to fit the above description, IMO.

Load of ****

I'm not attention seeking, I'm not under the impression that people care about my life.

Sorry that wasn't directed at you personally - more the load of tripe that seems to be out there ("OMG WOOP WOOP I GOTZ A PUPPY 2DAY"). Thanfully those sort of people tend to use facebook status as their blog instead for the most part these days.

I tried making a useful blog for a while documenting how I'd fixed problems at work (networks/scripting) but no-one cared or read it. :( </foreveralone>

PianoBasher, hopefully one day this cruel world with awake, blink the sleepy dust from its bleary eyes and then understand just how bloomin' epic your networks/scripting problem solving efforts truly where. One day...one day...

It's hard to get readers, I've come to terms with that, in fact I've come to terms with the fact my blog will probably never get more than a few hundred visitors a month possibly not even that. But I'm going to still persevere with the blog, it's a much better past time than playing games or watching TOWIE, I'm a Celebrity or Coronation Street.

:D :D :D Summary: I'm a boring barsteward and no-one wants to read about my geekery. ;)

I'm pleased.

Not amazing, but I wrote a large article on Windows 8 Developer Preview, admittedly, probably too large for a blog as it was over 2000 words, but I'm making use of Twitter, and I got mentioned on this dotnetdoug site http://paper.li/DotNetDoug/1313622880

It's only up for like a few hours on that site but still pretty pleased :D

People say you're supposed to focus on particular subjects. But who cares. Write about what you want. It's your blog. Unless you want it to be hugely successful it doesn't really matter.

This tbh, it's what I do. Write about what I'm reading, watching, playing doing or listening to, interesting things I've seen, articles I'd like to comment on and so on.

I've got some readers, but I couldn't care less if anyone reads it or not, as I get the fun from writing when I find the time to. :)

Mine's going quite well. It's nice to have a little corner of the internet to populate with stuff that interests me. Next up will be a big article (probably in a few instalments) concerning that most amusingly titled field of magic: Mentalism!
