BLOOMFIELDS CLOCK THE SAME

Hi and thx for the quick reply bud,

I tried what you said, i set the QPI Voltage at 1.315v and the CPU PLL at 1.840v and the system refused to go past the bios screen, i had to change those two values to what they were before.

After many hours playing around in the bios i have managed to raise the QPI/VTT voltage without any issues so far, the way i was able to do this puzzled me somewhat. I had to lover my memory freq from 8.0 (1600mhz) to 6.0 (1200Mhz) i could then raise the QPI voltage and boot into windows with no issues. Out of curiosity i went back into the bios and set the memory back to 8.0, 1600Mhz, the system booted up fine and the benchmark i been using to test stability also completed with no instability.

Been testing with Prime, after about 15-20 min i get the dreaded blue screen, i upped the vcore to 1.42 aswell but i dont think its lack of vcore voltage thats the problem, my temps are fine and not going over 87c, do you reckon its something to do with the memory settings? i have all the timings on auto?

i'd stay below 80 personally, but each to their own.

also, are you really needing 4.2GHz? 4GHz is fine.

only reason i run at 4.2 is because i'm watercooled, and purely because i can :D

lol nice, well its not that a great deal to run at 4.20, i guess im just a tad determined to succeed because i feel that im very close to getting a stable overclock but i must be over looking something.

What temps you getting at the momen clocked at 4 gig ?

Im at 4.20ghz now, my voltage is 1.376v in cpu-z, all my games are running absolutely fine with this overclock, only when i stress test in prime or occt i get bsod, if i test with intel burn in test i dont get any instabilities at all, so i stopped using prime and occt because i think they add unrealistic stress on me system, my temps now are 39c at idle and after about two hours of gaming it wont go over 83c.
