Blown Engine

If that's Top Gear, I think I remember seeing it on TV years ago.

I think the guy driving it is employed by Ferrari to rag the hell out of their cars all day long as part of development.

Not convinced that was the engine grenading itself, it wasn't even revving hard at the time. With the pop noise and steam it was possibly a burst radiator or coolant hose.

Well the 550 came out about 1996 and it was obviously developed and tested before that. As far as I know its from a little known series called 'Clarkson's Motorworld' which was aired around 1995. The clip is from the Italian Motorworld.

edit: It's actually a 456 but its still from Motorworld :D

Even with an FXX?

I'd have thought so, yes. All cars need to be tested to breaking point. I can't see the FXX being any different. Saying that, the testing may be done by the testers/owners (whatever you call them) rather than that guy, as that's the point of the program. They might not want to blow it up though :p

I believe that's from Clarkson's Motorworld, or possibly Car Years.

EDIT - Must read thread before posting :(, beaten to it.
