The most recent repair was a ***********. It developed a fault last year after the HDD/motherboard was replaced for the 3rd time. However it was an intermittent error and went through repeated trips whilst I detailed the errors myself. The final trip (it's 6th essentially) had a period of farce in the middle where it was lost between Repair centres. When it arrived back today there where new and significant issues (fans grinding, keyboard badly seated, foot missing). 3 strikes within a year *always* earns a replacement, or so the rumours go.
This iBook was 2 years and 9 months old and so reahing the end of AppleCare, now I am getting a free MacBook upgrade, couldn't of wished for a better and more timely failure.
Excellent.
