blown my mp3 player

pluged my mp3 player in to a mates pc and it was a dodgie usb port and it blew it up the hhd from the mp3 player is fine is there a way i can still use the hdd it is a toshiba hdd1488 w zko1 dc3.3v 500ma mk2oo6gal 20 gb pic

conector sorry for bad quality cant get it 2 focus

found it online as a notebook hdd how would i be able to connect that 2 my pc (desktop)

You might struggle to get that to run attached directly to a PC. It's a 1.8" drive by the look of it, I'm not sure if they have the same pinouts as a 2.5" laptop HDD so a 2.5 -> 3.5" adpator may not work. Power however will be a bigger issue, the details you give suggest it runs on 3.3V which desktops cannot supply to peripherals (only 5&12V supported).

There are adapters available to convert the 1.8" HDD connector to a 2.5" one which can then be used with a normal 2.5" to 3.5" converter to allow usage in a dektop but there's not much mention of voltage conversion. The only one I've seen which explicitly mentions it is an Addonics one but I've only seen US based sellers.
