blu-ray audio out question

Depends what budget BD players you are looking at. As above, budget models have no RCA out to save on costs.

After having a quick look it seems you can't even get one with RCA out for £150 nowadays. I've got an old Sony S370, which was a bit over £100 around 6 years ago, and that has RCA out.

You may end up paying nearer £200?

I'd just buy a cheaper one with optical or coaxial out and buy a relatively cheap DAC. Going to be a lot cheaper than a BD player with a built in DAC and RCA out.

i'm out of luck :(

i forgot that my monitor only has one output (display port).

i could get one to plug into the pc, but i was liking the idea of no noise.

i'll have to look into pc ones, as having to lug out my older monitor to plug in the player and the dac when i want to watch bluray stuff is a tad too much!

Oh right. Well that is rather a stumbling block, not having a HDMI monitor.

Of course using Blu-ray on pc comes with it's own irritations; like having to update and pay for, when they release the latest version of the software, to continue using it. At least in the case of cyberlink's powerdvd, you do.
