Hired "Angels & Demons" last night to try my new Panasonic Blu ray / HDD recorder and the much touted "Blu-ray live"!

Film "OK" but Blu-Ray live is a BIG disappointment. Slow to download, slow to respond (have 10MB broadband) and really just trailer advertising.

I would give BD-live a score of -1/10 (if not lower).

Or am I missing something?

On a related note, I recently got A+D on DVD and the picture quality is stunning. The blu ray must be fantastic.

I'm using a Toshiba upscaling DVD player.

Yep, BD Live is pretty pointless. To be honest I rarely use any of the special features on DVDs let alone Blu-rays. The pop-up menu is nice though.

Can't say i've tried it, but isn't it meant to give you names of actors/music and anything else in the scene. which could be useful. especially he music-track bit.

I miss trailers :(. Bring back trailers. best way of finding stuff that is straight to dvd.

The pop-up menu is nice though.
It probably is, but how the hell do you get rid of the thing on a htpc with keyboard rather than remote and PowerDVD player.. Seems to be no way apart from closing powerdvd.

It often does things like pop up information on the current scene, or other random information that you don't really want to be reading while watching a movie!

As for the menu... I have no idea, I use my PS3 to play Blu-rays. Try pressing the same button as whatever opened the menu? :p
