What it is, Im using an LG Blu-ray GGWH20L R/W Rom Drive. When I went to play the latest Star Trek film, it started off OK, then when it got to the language section, it just froze. Anybody any ideas

Cyberlink is awful lol. Try updating everything, maybe reinstalling. I personally don't have a BD Drive or anything but I've heard that SlySoft Any DVD HD decodes the film on the fly or something and you can just play a BR Disc in WMP.. Not too sure however.

Is the software up to date, i had a few issues with power dvd 9 and blu ray that were solved with the latest update.

What I was thinking. Has Hollywood changed the Blu-ray format for their disc, they did that 3-4 years ago for their other disc's. I remember I had to buy another DVD player, hoping they haven't. It came as an 3 disc set, disc 1: the film, disc2: extra, and disc3: digital copy. The problem lies with disc 1 and 2, where it opens, and then it froze at the language selection.

I've got the same film and using Total Media Centre without problems to play it.

I did see somewhere in some earlier posts that the latest versions of Pover DVD were causing problems and some people had rolled back to earlier versions and that had cured it. Though that was not specific to the new Star Trek film.

Other thing to possibly check out. If I remember correctly (though my mind may have made this up) Blu Rays use Java to run the menu systems that are in the films so you might want to try the latest Java JVM which you can get from the Sun (not the newspaper site) website.

Hi, I got it to work after all. What was wrong, is, it wont work with my mouse. When it sat on the language option, my mouse would not work. What I did was to use the arrow buttons on my keyboard with the enter key to select the language. That took you through the next frame, were the arrow keys had to be used again. This slowed down the process of viewing the film. However, with my other 2 blu-ray films, Tropic Thunder and 'I am Legend', were the mouse does work for them, strange.
