Whats the best freeware for playing Blu ray DVD's on win 7? Or is there an addon for media player or itunes.

Well, there isn't any freeware... legal that is.
All the free apps out there simply remove the encryption and allow you to rip (or remove and allow you to play with other apps)
This is due to the licencing issues which surround blurays.
You'll have to cough up for PowerDVD or WinDVD etc.

oh right?! should have purchased a blu ray surround system then!
will have to read up on the licencing. does it only affect bluray and not standard DVD's?

It's easy to find free DVD players such as Media Player Classic or VLC because DVDs have been out so long that the reverse engineers have had enough time to pick it all apart and create DVD viewing code that does the job without using licenced code.
