Hi all

I have Power dvd 8 ultra but it does not work on W7.....anyone know any software i can get to play Blu ray on my PC...free if possible....and also I have noticed that OC'rs are doing Power dvd 9 for £3.99...any one know if this is the Ultra version that plays Blu ray

thx in advance

Unless something has surfaced since I last looked, there is no free Blu-Ray playing software.

Power DVD 9 Ultra will play Blu-Ray movies/discs. ;)
You can find the trail: Here

Out of PDVD9 , Arcsoft and WinDVD - i've chosen Arcsoft it just integrates far better into win 7

Another vote for Arcsoft TMT3 it works really well, integrates with Media Centre perfectly.

what you mean it doesnt work ? i purchased a sony blu ray player with power dvd disc ( its called bd edition ) and it playes fine in win 7 and that sofware is at least 1 year old

also powerdvd cant just stop br playingback on older versions if it worked previously ....they can stop makign updates to play newer blu ray films , but thats it

interesting that .... 7 and 8 def had blu ray support , and i'm pretty sure 9 did from the start .. cyberlink seem to be taking the ****

Just a note to be aware of...

In the later versions PowerDVD and another major player (that I can't remember the name of), removed the ability to play movies from the hard drive apparently to stop copying.

Pretty rubbish for a media centre PC.
