The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xc0000005, 0x022f17d9, 0x919d9300, 0x919d8ee0). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 021509-15709-01.

5)
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

thats just the short list

im running windows 7 (beta).i did have vista installed and was told to install the new beta for windows 7 to see if that sorts the problems out but still the same ?

iv got a
ASUS M2N-SLI AM2 NVIDIA nForce 560
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black Edition AM2
OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 MHz / Reaper HPC Edition / Dual Channel did have 4 gig at the start of the problem but started to swap and change memory, but no luck .
GeForce 8800GT 512 video card
SB X-fi extreme gamer sound card

if anybody has any ideas or fixs thanks

iv changed the memory voltage to 2.1v as what it should be
moved the ram and reseated it

disabled sound card and still the same and now im out of ideas

Hi, I have a very similar problem to yours. I am running the system in my sig on Win7 x64 Ult. Beta and I get intermittent BSoDs almost identical to the your No.4 but sometimes it varies and very rarely points to any particular piece of hardware. Some times I will get a string of them just trying to boot and then I will have a day like yesterday when my system is fine for about 9 hours and suddenly BSoDs while sitting idle for 20 mins.

I was beginning to suspect either an issue with the memory but it all passes multiple checks with Memtest or an issue with my MSI P35 NEO mobo, which i got 2nd hand. Comparing our systems the only matching parts are our soundcards but as I hadn't considered that as it works fine in most things (CoD:W@W now objects to it being in high quality 24 bit mode since the v1.2 update though).

I may completely remove it when I have time to see if that helps.

The only odd thing I have noticed is this BSoD issue appears to happen more when the ambient room temp is low but other than a physical hardware defect I can't see why that would be an issue.

Sorry I can't really help but at least there is someone else who can help in finding a fix. I will let you know if anything I try works.

Dave

not the sound unless i have to take it out, iv disabled it in system and still BSOD.At first i thought it was overheating so i cleaned cpu up and reset the heat compund. i mean iv got a 120mm case fan hanging over the ram to cool it but that was a deadend >_<

I considered overheating too especially with the cpu overclocked but even when the system is pushed none of my temps get anywhere near the danger zone for any of the components. Out of curiosity are you using 4 x 1Gb sticks? I might try dropping down to 2 slots and see if that has an effect of the problem even though my memory passes Memtest. I won't be able to try till this evening but I will let you know if anything makes a difference.

Well I tried my system with the X-Fi removed and on 2Gb of memory but I still get the BSoDs. I have updated the Win7 8600GTS driver to the latest 64 bit drivers from nvidia's website and that hasn't helped. GPU-Z reports the card temp as 51c at idle in Windows so that doesn't appear to be a reason the sytem would crash during startup.

I am puzzled  Looks like I may have to chuck my old abit 650i mobo in and see if that makes a difference.

Have you had any luck Diggzy?

no mate im starting to think it mayb 1 of 3 things!

mother board fault?
CPU fault (overheated)?
power supply on its way out

when u get BSOD do u hear the power supply work harder ? i cant hear mine due to GFX card fan to loud >_<

The board in my system at the mo is an MSI P35 Neo that I wish I never bought second hand but I was frustrated by my 650i not being able to overclock past 2.6Ghz.

I am happy with my CPU temp under load and I have never had an issue with my PSU so far. I can't hear my PSU fan over the other case fans but I would have thought a PSU fault would be more likely to show up under load yet once my system boots and gets rusn for a few minutes without crashing it is usually ok. I can play CoD:W@W and Farcry 2 for hours without problems, they only go wrong if I alt-tab to desktop.

I get the problem when the system is running at default specs so I don't think my overclock is the problem but it looks like I may have to switch boards even if it is just to eliminate the motherboard from the equation.

That is going to have to wait as unfortunately my son is coming down with something and my daughter is going to be upset that we have to cancel a planned trip to Longleat :(

I mentioned before the crashes appear to be more common when the ambient room temp is low. The past couple of days it has been a bit warmer in the room where my system is and I have only had a few crashes over that period. That also coincides with me pulling the memory and soundcard out and fidlly with them. I wonder if there is a seating/contact issue with the motherboard slots and either of those components when the system is cold?

the cooler the pc and room the better. i cant see it being to cold an issue tbh...power problems can be very weird and im thinking mine may be power or m/b or cpu iv got my wifes pc with amd board and cpu witch i may swap over to rule them out. ill tell my finds when im done :)

ok this is my findings. i used Ntune to put a load on the ram and no crash same with video card no crash then when i done it to cpu i got a BSOD with 0x00000050

I did stress test my cpu when i overclocked it on this mobo and I didn't get any problems. Strangely I haven't had aa actual BSoD crash in the past two days (crosses fingers) but my system did freeze as soon as it loaded into Windows desktop the first two attempts at booting the system and then it had been fine.

It looks like this BSoD error may have many odd causes as search on google threw up examples of people having similar errors under XP SP3 with varying hardware setups

Try replacing the CMOS battery. My old system had a problem similar to this, and replacing it fixed it. They're only a couple of quid, so you might as well try it. Saved me £50. :)

Diggzy, I am getting more and more confused by this problem. Just when I think I may be narrowing it down the pattern changes. I don't think it is Win7 causing the problem as I haven't had any updates recently that would explain the greater stability I am having

I think will give this a try and grab one when I go shopping on Monday. As it is a 2nd hand board of unknown history it could less hassle than swapping boards and definitelt better than buying a new mobo. Cheers for the idea. I need to get back into the swing of things with hardware, it's been too long since I worked in PC retail and had to troubleshoot other peoples sytems and this is the first odd issue I have had for a long time :p

but my board is new like 6months old now but was new.....dnt think cmos battay could be the problem more of jumper one on the board that clears cmos maybe? not lookin at my board in full just looked to see if caps was broken and stuff all clear on that. i even asked in the shops up city center the only help i got was maybe a conflick with rem chip and M/B chip set?....thats all i got from him >_<

Oh well, that few days of happy computing didn't last :(. Every time I have turned my system on today I have had a BSoD either during start up or when it reaches the desktop.

The only thing that lets me boot is if I let Windows Repair start and then cancel it when it asks if I want to do a system restore.

I have also been having some strange issues with program settings and files. Is it possible that all these problems could be due to a bad area or other hard drive related problem? I will run a full scan disk later to be on the safe side.

Put a download link for the memory dump file and we can check it to see what caused the crash.
