Are they legal, I sent my mum out to get some sidelights after one had died, it looked pretty much the same as the old one cept when I put it in it was blue. :o

Can I just have blue sidelights for a while or this is a big no no.

When I was stopped in the Integra for slightly blue tint on my lights the copper said that any blue lights on the car are a no no due to them being reserved for the emergency services.

So I would say no.

You asked your mum to buy your sidelights?
Some of us have to work, my last day off was about a week ago. I gave her the dead one and she went to a shop and showed a guy that worked there.

I think it depends on how blue they are. I've got some Philips Blue Vision in mine. When they're off they look very dark blue. But when they're on they look like a pure white, especially when compared to standard yellow sidelights. Had them on my previous car too which went through 3 MOTs fine.

"The packet said Road Legal, Officer."

Thats what i said, then realised blue looked horrible and tacky, so swapped for Ice White.

My old ones were blue but the light was white, these are blue bulbs with blue lights. :o

Really blue too.

Just looked at the packet, for interior use only.

They will be fine.

They'll light up a nice Ice White colour.
One of them does while the other is bright blue.

The lesson is dont let your mum do even the most simple jobs as they will mess it up. :p

She did try though. :)

Thread can be deleted now.

Every set of "white" or "Xenon look" sidelights I've ever bought, be they LED or conventional, have turned out to be blue.

Yep, ive got a set of LED sidelights sitting right beside me now, if you connect them to a battery they look white, put them in a car, they look blue

I must have bought about 10 different types and brands over the years, never ever ever found a real white set.
