Hi there,

In my van I have a Parrot CK3100 and it's driving me nuts.
It worked fine with my old phone, a W810i. I upgraded to an iPhone and the kit had constant problems, so I bought a W910i and the kit also had issues. I have since tried three other phones and I now own a Nokia N78.

It's driving me mad, the kit constantly loses connection with my phone, half way through a call. As most of the regulars know I run my own business so this is most unprofessional. I have updated the firmware on the Parrot kit to the latest version and it now doesn't remember certain settings when I switch off the ignition (I am thinking the switched and permanant are around the wrong way but it retained settings before the latest firmware update ?!).

A lot of people complain of background noise with my kit.

My friend owns a Nokia kit in his Focus and the call quality is dreadful. I can always hear myself which is very off putting.

So, is there a decent kit or should I rip it all out and just use a wired or BT headset?

Thanks,

Chris

My CK3200 seems okay to be honest, both with my iPhone 3G and BB Bold.

If your friend is using his Nokia kit with a non-Nokia phone that will be why it is echoing - they used to build the echo cancellation in to the phone rather than in to the car kit so if you paired up another make of phone it would work but it'd echo.

I remember you telling me this before but he does have a Nokia phone!

Isn't the CK3200 essentially the same as the CK3100?

Oh - no idea why it's doing that then. It must be broken :p

I'm not sure - the 3200 has a bigger screen and stuff and as I said it seems fine to me :)

i'm really hacked of with my parrot MKi 9000 - the call quality is rubish, so much so i've started using the wired hands free again :(

the dock connector works pretty well for music although the last couple of days its been playing up and loosing the connection to the iPhone occasionally :S

Seriously considering paying the cash and getting the Audi hands free, its not cheap but works very well by all accounts & i end up using it for about an hour a day so worth the investment i guess...

I just spent a couple hours dismantling my dash and unplugging and replugging in all the cables and it now seems to be retaining settings. Perhaps one of the multi-plugs worked a little loose.

Very stressed now (it's a stupid procedure to remove the HU from the van).
