Hi,

I've recently bought a Belkin mini bluetooth adapter for my desktop. I've installed everything fine, paired up with my phone but for the life of me cant get paired with my laptop (inbuilt bluetooth by HP using Widcomm drivers) Both pcs have their visibility on and I can see both the laptop and desktop in the respective lists but when I go to add new device / pair device they cant connect.
When I connected to my phone the belkin device gave me a code to pair devices with but when trying to connected via laptop it didn't so I chose one on my laptop to use for both but it said authentication failed to connect to device.

Is it a problem since its two different types of bluetooth device or have i gone wrong somewhere?

Bluetooth is not the most reliable of technologies really, its odd it can work so well on a handheld yet cause so many problems on a PC.

What are you trying to achieve from the connection? or is it just for the sake of doing it?

it was mainly for bluetoothing images from phone to pc rather than having to connect through a cable all the time but i've got a few files on my laptop that i'd like to transfer across before totally stripping it out and running the bare minimum programs since its getting on a bit. I can use an external hard disk but wanted to do it without having to duck under my desk to switch cables about.
