bluetunes - control your music software with your wii remote!

Why would you have tracks you don't like on the pc? If you don't want people to disagree with you, don't make threads.

because people actually store entire albums rather than download one or two tracks?

why are you so pedantic? i have no problem with people disagreeing with me. its people like you who pointlessly argue. if you dont see a neeed then fine. you've stated your opinion. you can stay out now:)

I have yet to meet anyone who would waste their hdd space in such a fashion. But I'm sure if they did, they would use an amazing feature called a playlist so the computer didn't play the tracks they don't like. Anyway I'm sure this wiimote solution will be great for people who want to spend £60 on a remote and receiver. Good luck.

I was having a conversation with my bf about using a wii mote on a pc. We wanted to listen to a certain song in the playlist and we thought it would be cool to wave a wii mote thing and pick the song rater then keep skipping track on the regular remote or getting up and using the mouse.

In the latest issue of custom PC you can actually buy a remote designed for PC which is motion sensitive think it was about £69 tho

I don't know why people dismiss this so quickly, it's a good idea, we interact with our media centers via remotes and if media centers had Wii like cursor controls then I'm sure they would be more user friendly. One thing that's certain is navigating a webpage using the Wiimote is a million times better than a standard remote control or a game controller, as media centers become more common in our living rooms, remote technology is going to have to catch up, especially if we want to be browsing the web on them.

I have played with the wiimote and sensor bar using various apps such as glovepie and darwiin and although most of the ideas behind them are proof of concept, there is definatly room for futher development in this area.

thats utter ridiculous. of course people will rip entire cd's to their pc's.

thank you Hayley-K and RobH, i was beginning to think i was the only one who saw the potential with this. there is a small problem with foobar not working, but the author is working on that now apparently. ive just asked him if he could allow button combinations and hand gestures to trigger key combinations, which would allow a far greater amount of control for foobar and the like.

thanks. bye bye then:D

i dont know if it is supposed to be 'fun' but think of the practicality, its a great idead if you dont want to mess around with your pc changing tracks. so you got music on in the front room and your doing something in the kitchen, take the wiimote. its a great idead, but i really dont think it was supposed to be fun

I did like using an old Sony Ericsson phone over bluetooth, but at the end of the day always reverted back to mouse and keyboard.

sounds like a great idea to me, I use a wireless kybd/mouse to control my PC, but I would be interested in trying a wii remote
