on the west road newcastle.
i thought 4meg was fast but this is amazing.

I;ve got one of the original "cream" ones.. no idea what model.. is there any benefit form having one of the newer modems?

well I had one of the original cream ones as well, it was a sb 3100. Was about four-five years old I think.

The sb 3100 wasallegedly not able to handle the full 10 meg speed that the newer ones can.

Telewest will swap your old one for a new one for free if it's one of the older ones that dont support it.

I have a sb4100 & I cant get above 550kbps. I think i'll have to ring blueyonder in the morning.

Tyneside aswell max from the groups was about 700, and it hovers around 400

Hmm seems strange in on a 4200, if im going to get these speeds i may aswell drop down to the 4 meg one for 25 a month

I think they are only replacing really old modems not sure about newer ones. You could always post in the blueyonder newsgroup or give them a call and ask.

I had to get a new router as well as my old one wouldn't be fast enough to download at full whack.
