Blueyonder/Telewest speed upgrades

Not really, since you'd still be tied to the maximum rate of USB.

Edit: Er, think I got the wrong end of the stick. Never mind. :p

just downloading something, suddenly started going much faster than normal, thought i would check on here, woo hoo :D

Everytime i do speed tests etc i get results of 240KB/s. From the Blueyonder game site i get 450KB/s. The only site that i trust is the ATi Driver downloads that come down at 1180KB/s. Web pages take an age to come up, possibly because my computer is crap.

Blueyonder went down for quite a bit of this evening, guy in tech said it was a small hiccup due to the upgrade and would be fixed straight away, which it was.

However since its gone off and come on again only getting around 700k now... weird

Down here in Kent i had the same earlier this evening it went down then came back and was slow.

Still is a bit jumpy now.

Am going to sleep now and hoping when i wake up i'll be faster :p

Nothing in Gillingham :(

I'm trying to find out by looking at dates for newcastle etc... how long they had to wait from the network upgrades being done to the actual speed increase.

its a pain in the ar2e cos i cant play battlefield 2, sniper elite or pretty much do anything on the internet.

Good news is that I get my cable modem replaced on thursday. Im wondering as BY already said that they would replace my modem when we get upgraded to 10mb but I rang them up to see what any problems he could sort with the recent lag and he said on thursday an engie would come out and replace my modem. Im taking ths as a sign that maybe thursday we will be turned on

Id rather of just stayed on 2 meg than this, web browsing in woefull and my newsgroup speed hovers around 200k. It also drops on and off a lot, if this is what its going to be like full time i think i will go down to the basic package. Cn i get a 4200 surfboard replaced?
