Telewest BHAM, are taking the ****!

My connections all over the place, and has been for the last couple of weeks. :mad:

Yep totally...although my 4 mb line seems quite stable...how can BY jusitfy charging me £35 for 4 mbit when 40 miles down the road the person paying them £35 is getting 10 mbit!!!!!

This is stupid. I know it's a free upgrade -but the required updates to the network (for the knowlsey region) have been completed for 1 week+ and we still have no news as to when we will have them. It's bloody well annoying.

Took about 2 weeks after work was completed for the extra speed to come through in South West area.

I wouldn't expect any thing from the Midlands for the while. As the network around here is on it's arse already. There isn't enough bandwidth to go around as it is, let known with 10mb. a lot of midland users are ocmplaining, as come 6 oclock pings spike, over subscription rear's it's ugly head, and it's pretty poor :/

glad i live in a village full of old people, i have all the bandwidth

hope i get the upgrade before xmas, i feel left out.

Frome is Done (well Trowbridge side anyway) Just started a download and thought "that's a bit quick" so I checked the modem logs and 4mb is enabled!!

The biggest [OI!] is that download speeds from a lot of sites are still restricted by their own servers & that even with 10mbps you still often get just 100 - 200kbps.

All uBR/network upgrades where completed on the 7th for my area, so why is rollout completion still showing tba?

I'm still hanging on to the hope that in most areas the speed uplift happened roughly two weeks after upgrades where finished. That should mean I should see my 10meg next week, but definately before the 21st.

On the other hand though, this is Telewest where dealing with so it could anytime before Christmas 2006.

I'm confused - my upstream transfer rate has increased to around 384Kbps, but my downstream has decreased from 2Mbps to around 1.1Mbps... what's going on? :confused:

Mine is the same, went from 4meg to 1meg!! Should be 10meg, i'm on the phone to them right now..

The UBR upgrades are taking place in Doncaster on the 14th of November, but how long will it be before i actually see a speed increase?

I have complained 4 times now about this as it has been going on for at least 4 weeks.

They told my friend last night that the internet is busy thats why it is slowing down.

I was told my pc doesnt meet the spec([email protected],1 gig ram,X850XT etc).

But appparently if you can download from their Gamefiles site at full speed then everything is ok.

At this point I lost my temper and had a argument with the support guy and I lost it and swore at him as he was shouting at me.

Conversation was ended by me then.

Its pure contention as far as I can see because all through the day speeds are ok until it hits the evening and then it goes downhill.

I saw 800k on the speedtest last night but after midnight it was doing the full 10meg business and the same this morning.

Getting 1.10MB/s

Not great pings though so something isn't right.

Also adlsguide.org is great for speed tests, always got around 4meg , but now when i've been "upgraded" it's showing up as 1meg :confused:
