Hi,

Been using WinDVD8 + blu ray for a while now, but had some issues with a recent title. The blu-ray disk produces a red screen which says "the firmware of your player needs to be updated in order to play this film" or something along those lines.

Latest version with a current AACS key etc. Ended up raising a support request with corel which after lots of "best off ringing support (you may be charged for this call)" !! type replies I gave up.

So - ended up buying TotalMedia Theatre which played it with no problems. :D However theres some problems with this too - for instance, if I enable the "hardware acceleration" option in the graphics menu, the picture looks pixelated, as if ite being upsized or something. Switch it off and picture is fine (and hardly any additional cpu usage either apparantly).

It also tends to lock up occasionally too - or rather the film continues to play but I can't quit or end task it.

I've also noticed that windvd reports the audio stream as 24bit in information but plays it back as 16 bit - yet TMT reports the stream as 16bit??

Sooooo confused - its a pain I have to currently use a combination of two pieces of software to play recent disks. :(

Anybody else using these two and what have been your obsevations so far?

Using win xp32 sp3 by the way.
