Errmm... why?!

328Pickup

What would possess someone to do this?

Firstly, why convert a 3-series into a pick-up truck? And secondly, why convert said conversion into a track day car? Wouldn't the lack of weight of the rear wheels hinder the efforts of the car? I suppose it could be more fun rather than fast, but still... why?

i actually really like that

it appears to be a well done conversion. Australians love their utes so anybody that doesnt like that is only disliking it because of a cultural thing.

Because the owner is a hillbilly.

the conversion is to be admired, even if its only for the owner not resorting to stupid bodykits and lexus lights. If BMW made an e36 ute, thats probably about what it would look like.

Lunatic drifters in Japan do this often when the back end of their car gets super smashed up from hitting the wall too many times they just cut it off. Means they can carry more tyres in the car too. Never really seen it over here, I guess as a nation we're not really mad enough to do these kinds of things.

I really like that, looks a bit wierd but looks about right. Not too barry but quite cool in an unconventional way, the M5 pickup was much better though!

That's a ute, not a pick-up. And it's a damned sight better looking than the car it's based off! I really rather like that.

Next step would obviously be to stick a GM LS1 small-block in there (which does fit quite easily) for maximum amount of win.

My DT teacher at school had a red E30 pickup conversion, I quite liked it and I quite like the one in the OP.
