BMW drivers

A lot of it has to do with the yuppy culture of the 80's as well which is where Porsche's stigma comes from - wealthy cityboys with huge bonus's whilst everyone else was standing outside Longbridge in jackets, pointing at things.

Round here it is simply a bald middle aged man in a boxster..

BMW's own fault for building such ultra reliable cars.No wonder they seem common as muck, they are well built, interiors dont fall apart because you hit a speed bump a little hard and generally are very attractive cars.

Three cheers for Klaus!

This sounds comforting. I've been researching E60's and they appear to be way off ultra reliable.

They are reliable - it's unlikely (Unless you buy a diesel) that you will ever suffer a major mechanical failiure or be stuck at the roadside. What adds up though are the silly little bits and bobs here and there. £100 here, £100 there, etc.

Id like to think I don't fit the stereotype of a BMW driver as I am courteous and even though I could annihilate a lot of the cars on the road around me, I don't stick to the middle/outer lanes flashing people to get over.

Someone mentioned they had seen a bmw doing undertakes etc. Ask yourself this, if those people on the motorway were driving correctly, how would he be able to do this?

Stereotyping and knob jokes came about from jealousy. Its like the child who can't reach the toy, so sulks in the corner saying "didn't want it anyway" eventually, you get enough children who think its cool to sulk in the corner and there you have stereotyping in a nutshell.

Im not better than anyone who drives any other car. I bought my BMW because I took it for a test drive and loved the way it felt and handled. My next car is a BMW because of my good experience with this one.

This thread is full of personal insults, misinformation and back tracking hypocrisy. Im sorry I live on the other side of your perceived them / us divide, I like my car and your opinion is exactly that. Your opinion. Not mine. If you don't like the car I drive, tough ****, I do, your opinion counts for jack **** to me because I have experience, whereas you have nothing but trying to look cool by following the sheep.

Lol your sig is a bit hypocritical no?

I have spent more than enough time in the past defending BMWs and its a losing battle, so now my sig has become a two finger salute to the detractors.

A form of defence that simply personifies the image your are trying to defend, is probably why if we ever go to war you may be cannon fodder rather than responsible for strategy..
