BMW Free Zone

Employ some illegal immigrants to retrim your car in the finest Romanian leather.

YES!! I DO THIS!!

Take the plastics out and have a lighter car :D

Actually, half the interior has been out of my car for the last 2 months whilst I sort out a leak. It's so noisy and unrefined with the interior panels missing. Perhaps I should the the inside of all the panels leathered aswell.

Then my car smell like Mercedes!

I drive 2 Rovers, one of which is up on wooden blocks in the garden. I'm sure a BMW would be the same way, the way I drive my cars :D

Back in a good old rattly derv - shocking enough my interior doesn't rattle though, I feel left out like the fatty in a threesome who just watches :(

i own a golf!! i dont think id change it for much tbh. pocket money fun.

1995 gti 16v
14 years old
c.170bhp
tons of handling mods
210k miles

the car has never not got me to my destination. does 40mpg on motorways or double the NSL if you fancy it. done the ring and lemans in this car. cost me £950 to buy but ive spent a bit of money on it since, but then i have done 60k miles in the car

its never nice for the cooling system to not work! :(

This is why I'm contemplating replacing the BMW with a French car...never had any major problems with them...although I did blow up one engine, but about £50 got me a replacement with less miles. :D

In my experience...

French > BMW

...for reliability...although the BMW is a nicer place to be than the equivalently aged French car.

I'm not sure I like it in here.

The furniture is falling apart, the seats aren't heated, and sometimes it's nice for the cooling system not to work.

Not sure what you mean. My seats are heated, electrically adjustable, leather and don't have any Germanic origins at all.

Reminds me I never did get around to posting any interior shots of my car.

BMW free zone, thats turned pro french, i'm outa here!

i once had a 406 diesel. i got it with 112k miles, it was a few years old. that car was mint. i once stopped in a motorway services because i thought i could hear a rattle in the dashboard. turned out to be my key rings. the car was silent (and deathly slow) but it was a trooper. had it 6 months and it didnt cost a bean, only petrol/insurance etc.

good old 406 Derv, cracking engine.

I've had two french cars, Almost new 1.1 saxo and a Pre Reg 1.2 Clio, saxo was alright didn't let me down and had done 70k when i crashed it.

Clio was a pig and needed two new wheel bearings after 27k, tbh i could see myself enjoying some french cars but as an ownership experience from nearly new the dealers suck.

I only ever owned one French car and it was enough to put me off them for life.

Yep i never want another.
