Ho ho ho only kidding - anyone welcome - just sticking to forum convention :)

Anyway - been looking at Style 37s as eventually I will have to have some. Sometimes they look like a 'normal' painted finish all over, but sometimes it looks like only the spokes are painted and the dish and outer rims are actually an unpainted polished finish. A few sets I saw on German Ebay had the dish/rims taken to almost a mirror polished finish - strongly contrasting with the spokes.

Anyone know what they looked like from the factory? If it's supposed to be an unpainted polished finish on the dish/rim, and say you pick up a tired/kurbed old set with a view to getting them refurbed, is it possible to get the correct polished finish on the rims? Or do kurbing marks have to be filled, therefore the refurbed wheel has to have a painted finish to cover the filler (as you can see I've no idea how wheels are refurbed)?

Cheers

This is my factory original Style 37 which has never been refurbished:

It has painted inner spokes but a diamond cut polished dish and spoke face - thats how they were from new.

They are a pain to refurbish, almost nobody does it properly.

Thanks

Is it just the lighting/angle of your pics, or is there really very little difference/contrast in the painted and polished surfaces? Would you say, for example, this one looks like it's as it should be, but maybe in different lighting? Rim appears a bit more shiny than in your pics...

This one, on the other hand, I'm assuming someone has blinged it up and they were never like that OEM (unless things were different in Germany)? Don't think I'd want them looking like that even if it was OEM!...
