Seeing as how this is practically a BMW forum, and BMWs biggest fanboy resides on here, I thought this may be of interest to you guys.

I went to BMW Welt (World) in Munich last month, it was fairly interesting, essentially just a big showroom. They have a museum accross the street, which was fairly expensive to get into (€6), but it had some nice exhibits etc.

The main thing I was looking forward to however was the factory tour! Unfortunatley we weren't allowed any photography for obvious reasons, although one of my friends managed to get a photo of the press room where they press the body panels out of sheets of steel. This was probbably the best value tour I have ever been on €3 (I have a fake student card :p) and it lasted around 2 hours and you got to see the car being built step by step and had a chap answering any question that you had. Bargain.

Anyway, here are some snaps in a disorganised fashion.

There is a joke here, I think "mercedes brings you driving pleasure" or something like that.

Take your pick :D

I also have some photos of Mercedes Stuttgart if anyone wants to see them?

All in all, well worth a visit if you're nearby, you must go on the factory tour though, you do have to book well in advance though, in my case it was 3 months or something like that.

I'm beginning to wonder how much of a car enthusiast you are, how is looking around something like that 'pretty boring' unless you are more interested in say ballet than cars
I guess I was expecting more, or I was disappointed after the Mercedes museum, which is like bmwx10.

You don't have to spend all your time in museums to be a car enthusiast :D

Average or dissapointing then not boring. Boring is waiting for a bus. Boring is driving a Vauxhall. I went to the Motorshow - it did not meet my expectations and was a dissapointing day out but it wasn't boring :p

I found it boring :(

When I was like 11 12 I remember the NEC ones, they were so cooooooool. Excel one dissapointed a lot, ended up getting bored towards the end. Espicially with all the people taking pictures 50 m away from *** car and expecting 40 people to stop for them to take a pic.
