Need to upgrade - my USBs are acting up - looking at the 2600k i7 intel cpu. I've been away from OCUK for a long time so am out the loop.

Go 3770K and get current tech. As for a board and RAM we need a budget and what your using your system for to spec. Also what graphics cards your throwing into it would help too.

I have a AMD VP4900 graphics card - not really for gaming or overlocking.

Web work and some video encoding.

Do you have a budget?

Not really top end just want something stable that will go the distance. Budget is not set but there is no reason for me on go blow mass amount of cash on a system that I'll be using for web & some video encoding.

Cheers for that, if I were to go i7 what would you suggest? Just want to future proof a little as I'm getting older and I've had my current system now for 3 years - which is a record!

The only major difference with the i7 is hyper-threading and its up to you whether you think it is worth the extra cost. In games it certainly provides no benefit, that's for certain.
