Trying to decide on a new mobo - one of the things i'm particularly looking for is a powered eSATA port(s) but no one seems to mention 'anything' about it!

Currently looking at the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 and from looking at the back panel, the shared USB/eSATA port "looks" like a powered one, but there's nothing in the manual/forums that mentions it, so i'm assuming it's just a bog-standard one.

Is powered eSATA still rare to find?

EDIT: Okay after further reading.... eSATA/USB = Powered eSATA then? lol

EDIT2: Okay I suck, Asus TUF Sabertooth looks like the puppy I might be going with :D

Most asrock boards including mine has them; but i have never seen a device that takes advantage of them

I have the X58A-UD7 and it rocks as a motherboard. Actually preferred it to the UD9 and RE2 which I had for a few weeks.
